Diabetes and neuropathy care, supported.
Plain-language information for patients, and device details for the providers who care for them.
For patients: what to know about nerve symptoms.
Diabetes can affect the nerves over time. Some people notice tingling, numbness, burning or pain, often in the feet and hands. Others notice nothing at all, which is one reason regular check-ups matter.
Worth telling your care team
- New or changing numbness, tingling or pain
- Sores, blisters or wounds on your feet that are slow to heal
- Changes in balance or in how you walk
- Anything that makes it hard to sleep or get through your day
Check your feet every day, and ask your care team how often you should be seen.
Devices your provider may offer
Some partner clinics offer devices intended for diabetic neuropathy. Whether one is appropriate for you is a decision for you and your provider. [Patient-facing device description and approved wording]
